Green Initiative

As a first step, all participants of BSE Certification on Financial Market (BCFM) Exam given below; who enroll on and after 1st February 2013 would be able to access the respective Study Material from the following Certification Exam Pages by following self explanatory instructions.

This shall ensure immediate availability of the Study Material and facilitate students in preparing for the certification exams. This initiative is a small step in ensuring a better & safer environment for future generations of students.

In case any Candidate(s) desires to obtain a physical copy of the following study material marked with (#), the same shall be sent by courier/speed post at a nominal charge of Rs.200/- per book on request through mail giving their registration details.

Standard Registration Process :
Step 1 - New user needs to register thru online & generate their User ID & password (New Users may click on the following link for registration: http://payment.bseindia.com/user_creation.asp)

Step 2 - Upload latest photograph

Step 3 - Make payment

Step 4 - Enroll for the certificate exam (Select certification Name, date & Time Slot for examination & generate hall ticket)

Step 5 - Candidate must report to the Exam Center at least 15 minutes prior to desired slot along with a print out of hall Ticket & valid photo ID card (Pan Card / Driving License / Passport / Aadhaar Card etc. )

*** Above mentioned all steps are mandatory to take the test. The candidates shall not be allowed to take the test if they miss any of the above mentioned steps

What are CISI exams:
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is the largest and most widely respected professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of financial centres globally. Evolved from the London Stock Exchange, CISI now has more than 40,000 members in 89 countries. In the past year, CISI set almost 39,000 examinations in 68 countries, covering a range of vocational qualifications.

The CISI is widely acknowledged as the main provider of qualifications for the securities and investment industry. It offers a wide-ranging programme of qualifications for employees working in, or aspiring to work in, the financial services industry. Its mission is to set standards of conduct and ethics for participants in the securities and investments industry, and to providing qualifications for such professionals.

How they are useful:
The Institute offers qualifications, training and industry membership. As the main examining body for the industry, the Institute provides vocational qualifications. Over 40,000 CISI qualifications are taken every year in over 70 countries at Computer Based Test (CBT) centres worldwide. CISI also offers a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme to members of all levels of seniority, geographical location and industry specialisation. CISI exams were developed specifically for those wishing to move on into higher education. It aims to provide individuals with knowledge and understanding of the key characteristics, mechanisms and influences on financial markets and institutions. The CISI Certificates are qualifications designed to assist individuals working in the securities and derivatives markets to obtain FCA "Approved Person" status.

CISI relevance in India:
The CISI has an established office in India that supports on-going growth in CISI qualifications and membership. About NISM


In pursuance of the announcement made by the Finance Minister in his Budget Speech in February 2005, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) established the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in Mumbai.

SEBI, by establishing NISM, has articulated the desire expressed by the Indian government to promote securities market education and research.

Towards accomplishing the desire of Government of India and vision of SEBI, NISM has launched an effort to deliver financial and securities education at various levels and across various segments in India and abroad. To implement its objectives, NISM has established six distinct schools to cater the educational needs of various constituencies such as investor, issuers, intermediaries, regulatory staff, policy makers, academia and future professionals of securities markets.

NISM brings out various publications on securities markets with a view to enhance knowledge levels of participants in the securities industry.

NISM is mandated to develop and implement certification examinations for professionals employed in various segments of the Indian securities markets.

NISM Continuing Professional Education (CPE Program)
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) performs two functions delegated to it under the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Certification of Associated Persons in Securities Markets) SEBI (CAPSM) Regulations, 2007. They are:

• Offering mandatory Certification Examinations for Associated Persons in the Securities Market Intermediaries
• Offering Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs for Associated Persons in the Securities Market Intermediaries.

Upon expiry of the validity of the certificate possessed by an associated person, the certificate shall be revalidated by passing the relevant NISM Certification Examination before the expiry of the existing certificate or by successfully completing a program of relevant one day ‘Continuing Professional Education (CPE)’ as may be specified by NISM during 12 months preceding the date of expiry of the certificate. General category
Any person holding valid certificate.

Principal category
Any person who is actively engaged in the management of the intermediary’s securities business including supervision, solicitation, conduct of business, and includes: a) Sole Proprietors, b) Managing Partners and c) Whole Time Directors, can be classified under the Principal category. Such persons belonging to the Principal category.

Grandfathered by age category
Type I category : Any person who has completed the age of 50 years
Type II category : Any person who has experience of 10 years or more

Registration for the CPE Program

• Candidates who wish to attend any CPE Program may send CPE Registration Form (Use only Internet explorer browser) For Registration Passport photo & Pancard is mandatory duly filled, and along with the supporting documents mentioned herein. Please note it is mandatory to submit photocopies of the documents along with the application at the time of enrollment. Further as per NISM requirements, candidates are required to bring the original mandated documents on the day of the Training.

• Candidate has to enrol prior 3 days in advance of CPE date.

CPE includes 6 hours of class room training (consisting of two sessions of 3 hours each). Attendance is compulsory in both the sessions.

Fee Rs 2,500/- inclusive of Training, lunch & refreshments.

Note: Participants are advised to register at least 6 months prior to the date of expiry of the Certificate to ensure availability of seats in desired date and/or location.

All successful candidates would be awarded a CPE certificate by NISM which would be valid for three years

The timings for the CPE Program are 10.00 am to 5:00 pm. The program would comprise of two sessions (three hours each) for day and evaluation at the end of the program. Attendance is compulsory for both the sessions. CPE certificates would be issued by NISM.
