Akash Bhavsar

Mr. Akash Bhavsar, a Post-Graduate in Business Management with Bachelors in Biology, he has 10 years’ of experience in International Technology Management, Fund Syndication, Business Development & Venture Management.

Mr. Bhavsar has been appointed as the Member of UN ESCAP Business Advisory Council (EBAC), He is also on the board of management of Technology Innovation International (TII), Luxembourg, EU, the President – Western Chapter of Indian Innovators Association and India-workstation Manager for SS-GATE. He is also Management Partner in Ingenuity Ventures amongst other engagements.

Alan Lysne
MD, Ryerson Futures Inc

Alan Lysne has been a co-founder, CEO, CTO, and COO of a number of technology businesses, and has been working with startups for well over a decade. Previously, Alan was the CEO of a Canadian venture-backed mobile company that was acquired by Grapple Mobile, an award winning design and development company based out of London. After the acquisition, he served as COO and led the Toronto office.

Prior to that, Alan was co-founder and CTO of Davinci Technologies, one of the first web based bill presentment companies with a global customer base of mobile operators. Davinci was acquired by CSG Systems (now Comverse Technology) where Alan served as an Executive Director and led a global team of over 80 people based in the U.S., Canada, France, India and China. Alan started his career as a consultant with Accenture, and holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University.

Apurva Mehta
Global Corporate Communications at Accenture

Apurva Mehta has two decades of experience in global trade and investment development, marketing communications and public affairs. Since May 2013 Apurva is employed with Accenture, the world’s largest IT consulting firm, as the corporate communications director for APAC. Prior to that, since October 2009, he was with TCS, the largest Indian IT company, as the global head for foreign government relations. During 2007 – 2009, he was with Mahindra Satyam, another major IT company, where he led a Public Affairs role. During 1993-2007, Apurva was the senior trade and investment officer at the Consulate General of Canada in Mumbai.

Apurva has extensive experience in building relations with leading global industry institutions such as the World Economic Forum. He has served on industry and bilateral forums, such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM). Apurva has spoken at pre-eminent business forums in India and in Canada, in the areas of ICT, infrastructure and transportation, and agri-food.

Apurva obtained a Master’s degree in Economics at the Clemson University in the US during 1991-1992, supported through a fully-funded University research grant.

Bino Pathiparampil
Vice President IIFL Capital(India Infoline)

Dr Bino Pathiparampil has a rich variety of qualifications and experience. After early education and training as a physician, he did MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.He has worked in the biotech and medical devices industries with NatImmune and Johnson & Johnson respectively. He covered US-listed biotech / drug discovery stocks at Thomas Weisel before his current role with IIFL in the Indian equity market.

His areas of interest include global macroeconomics and healthcare and life sciences sectors. He is a member of Mumbai Angels and is active in the start up ecosystem across sectors.


Gowree Gokhale

Ms. Gowree Gokhale heads the Technology, Media and Entertainment law practice of the multi-skilled, research-based international law firm, Nishith Desai Associates ( Her specialization also includes Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Franchising, Pharma and Life Sciences laws, Commercial laws, HR laws and Intellectual Property.

She has assisted international media and productions houses and pharmaceutical companies in structuring of their India operations, including IP structuring, and advice on regulatory issues. She has spearheaded several M&A transactions in the media and entertainment space. She specializes in structuring of cross border outsourcing and franchising arrangements and has negotiated several transactions both for Indian and MNC clients.

Ms. Gokhale is a Solicitor and a registered Patent & Trade Mark attorney. She is a visiting faculty at Institute of Intellectual Property Law Studies at Mumbai. She has authored research reports and articles on variety of subjects and has presented at various national and international seminars and conferences on IP, pharmaceutical, media and technology laws.

Honey Bajaj

Honey is a Product-Service-System Designer and has a holistic view of design. By having an eclectic mix of experience in design issues she has been able to deliver innovative solutions for the bottom of the pyramid. She is a trainer, story-teller and design thinker who uses design thinking methodologies in her work and workshops to empower participants to generate comprehensive solutions.

Laura Quinn
Founder - Do One Thing, India

After eight years managing clients like Nike, Nokia, Unilever, and the UK Government at top advertising agencies in London and Delhi, Laura established Do One Thing, a Delhi-based consultancy, in 2011. DOT creates value for companies through intelligent, impact-generating, engagement with cultural and social platforms. Clients include Punj Lloyd, British Council, Shahi Exports and Only Much Louder.

With Only Much Louder, Laura also co-founded The Coalition, a platform that aims to change the future of India’s creative industries by supporting the next generation of creative entrepreneurs.

Matthew Saunders
President, Ryerson Futures Inc

Matthew oversees Ryerson Futures Inc. (RFI), an accelerator for early stage companies connected to the Digital Media Zone at Ryerson University. RFI, through a fund it manages called DMZ Investments, invests seed capital into companies with exceptional founding teams and helps them develop and take their products to market through an extensive global network.

Matthew was a founder and co-CEO of NRG Group which he ran between 1997 and 2001. During this period, NRG raised over $30M in financing (including NRG’s IPO) and invested in several startups and early stage Internet-based operating companies.

Matthew has an undergraduate degree in Marketing and Management, and an MBA from Northeastern University.
